Systems fall apart when there isn’t enough energy. Health is no different.
There’s a fundamental truth about the universe that’s sitting right in front of us.
Most people don’t notice it—but once you do, you can’t unsee it.
Left alone, systems decay into chaos.
Science calls this entropy—the law that says: if you stop putting energy into a system, it will naturally become more chaotic over time.
It’s why a spotless room doesn’t stay clean forever.
Why you lose strength and flexibility if you stop moving.
Why the ice in your drink melts, weeds grow, and bodies degenerate.
If you leave your house for a day or two, it will look the same when you return.
If you leave for a few weeks? Everything will be covered in dust.
Gone for ten years? Expect to find all kinds of nuisances, such as cobwebs, cracked paint, broken pipes, maybe even some raccoons nesting in the attic.
Here’s the reality:
If you’re not actively putting energy into a system—whether that’s your home, your body, your finances, or your mindset—it will slowly unravel and become more chaotic.
And the longer you wait, the more energy it takes to change it.
Neglect your home for a few days? A quick sweep will do.
Neglect it for a year? You’ll need a deep clean and some repairs.
Ten years? You’re facing a full renovation.
Your health is no different.
If you stop moving, nourishing yourself, and checking in with your needs, your body will feel tight, weak and achy.
When you ignore your posture, eat poorly, and don’t get enough sleep, your health won’t just stay the same. It will decline.
Subtly at first, but then it becomes more obvious to the point you wonder, “How did I get here?” or “When did I start feeling so old?”
And the longer you wait, the more energy it takes to come back.
Not just physically—but mentally.
Because it’s not just the hardware (your body) that needs rebuilding. It’s the software too: the beliefs, stories, and identities that formed around your current state.
But here’s the good news:
It’s never too late.
No matter how far things have spiraled, there is always a way back—as long as you’re willing.
This is your reminder:
What you put energy into will change.
Energy creates order. It builds momentum.
What you nurture, grows.
Ever notice how it’s easier to keep a house clean once it’s already clean?
Spill something in a spotless home, and a quick pass returns it to pristine.
That’s the magic of consistency: a little effort over time gives you a lot of enjoyment in return.
It will take the same amount of energy over your lifetime either way. But it’s the experience that changes. Would you rather spend an hour a week maintaining a clean home that you can enjoy every day? Or four hours once a month just to enjoy it for a week?
Your body works the same way.
It’s the same with your health.
If you consistently put in the work, you get to live in a body that feels good.
If you wait, you’ll still have to pay – only the cost is steeper. Not just in physical effort, but also in medications, doctor visits, surgeries, and the money those interventions require. And that’s the path most people choose.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
We create health by working with the entropy in our lives.
So ask yourself:
What healthy habits are you already investing energy into?
What do you know you should be doing but keep putting off?
What part of your life feels chaotic—and where could a little energy make the biggest difference?
Entropy might be the law—but so is this:
What you tend to, thrives.
You don’t have to overhaul your whole life today.
Just pick one small thing. One little act of order.
That’s how the momentum begins.
I believe in the version of you you’re working toward.
Let’s keep building.
